Goethe-Institut

The Goethe-Institut, as a consortium partner in the National Consortium for Languages Education (NCLE), is leading on the German promotion, spearheaded by the GIMAGINE project.

About the GI

The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global reach. With 158 institutes in 98 countries, it promotes knowledge of German abroad, encourages international cultural exchange and conveys an image of contemporary Germany. The Goethe-Institut’s ties with partner institutions in many other places give it about 1,100 points of contact around the world. 

GIMAGINE, a project to promote learning German, is one part of the NCLE initiative, set up specifically to raise the profile of studying German in depth, up to GCSE and A-Level.   

It will help to: 

•    build capacities 
•    develop promotional material 
•    support the creation wider German opportunities 
•    strengthen communication by promoting the importance of German language and culture.
