About the British Council

The British Council is delighted to be part of the National Consortium for Language Education (NCLE). We are leading on communication and outreach events, using our experience in international education to communicate with educators, parents and carers the benefits and excitement of learning languages.

The British Council offers a wide range of resources and programmes to support language teaching and learning in primary and secondary schools.

Bring languages to life by setting up a partnership with a school in another country, hosting a language assistant, or using one of our free classroom resources.  Or see where Mandarin could take your pupils by joining the Mandarin Excellence Programme.
